Women

Beacons
Beacons is another program for women who want to develop a missions lifestyle. Their main objective is to pray for and learn about our missionaries at home and around the world. They also sponsor mission projects for various community agencies like: The Christmas Giving Tree, Hope’s Place, Two Hearts Pregnancy Care Center (Baby Bottle Blessings), Haven of Rest, Heavenly Treasures (Clothing & Household Items Donations). They meet in the home of members on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM. Come and be a part of the Beacons and let your light shine!

Ladies Mystery Trip
The Ladies Mystery Trip is a monthly ministry for ladies of all ages. The times and dates vary, depending on the trip agenda, but each journey begins at the church parking lot. The ladies are told how long they will be gone and what to bring with them, but the destination is unknown (except to the trip organizer) until they arrive at “the spot”. Sometimes they shop, other times they tour businesses, museums, parks or homes—and they always enjoy a meal together! If you’re a lady who wants to get to know other ladies in the church and have some fun, keep looking in the church bulletin or newsletter and show up for the next Ladies Mystery Trip!

MOPS
MOPS is an outreach and support group for mothers of preschoolers. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month from September through May. Meeting times allow moms to have time to themselves to eat, hear an interesting speaker, get to know other mothers in small group discussion time, and complete a creative activity, all while their young ones are being well taken care of by workers and volunteers in the MOPPETS program. Speakers, discussion time, and faithful mentor moms offer the emotional and spiritual support that mothers of preschoolers need. Don’t stumble through the journey of motherhood alone. Treat yourself to some “Mommy time” at MOPS.

Prisms
Prisms is a missions program for women. They are discovering ways God is at work in their lives, and they are responding through prayer, giving, and being radically involved in God’s mission—locally and around the world. In the past, they have ministered at the Ramey- Estep Homes, Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children, Hope’s Place, and the Ronald McDonald House. They have also adopted a missionary kid. Prisms generally meet the last Monday of the month (the location and time is always posted in the church bulletin). If you are a lady who is willing to allow the light of Jesus’ love to be dispersed through you, come and be a part of Prisms!

Scrapbooking & Cardmaking
If you like to do crafts, you’ll love the Scrapbooking & Card making Ministry. Just bring your supplies to scrapbook or make cards, or if you have another craft, feel free to bring it along as well. Right now they just make their own personal items. However, in the future, they plan on making get well, birthday, and miss you cards for Bible Fellowship teachers to use. They meet on the 4th Saturday of each month from 10 A.M. – 4 P.M. for crafting and fellowship. Members and non-members are welcome and you can come and go as you please. The cost is free, but the fun is priceless!

Stitches of Love
Looking for a new challenge? Perhaps you’d be interested in learning an old craft! Stitches of Love quilt guild is a group of ladies that meet at our church every Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Their goal is to teach, create, worship, and minister to others through the art of quilting. To date they have made several quilts for the church nursery; a large King sized quilt to sell at the silent auction to raise money for missions, and many personal wall hanging projects, which are loaned for display at King’s Daughters Hospitality House throughout the year. If you would like to be a part of this growing and creative fellowship for ladies, just grab your sewing box and material and join them next Tuesday!

Women’s Enrichment Ministry
The purpose of the Women’s Enrichment Ministry is to encourage women in their relationship with Jesus Christ through Bible studies, evangelism, missions and special events. All women from the community are invited to attend these activities. Usually, one Bible study is planned per semester, and women can choose to attend either a Tuesday morning or Sunday afternoon session. In the past, this ministry has hosted a variety of special events: Ladies Day of Pampering, Mother & Daughter Luncheon, Hats- Off to Ladies Luncheon, and Health Fair. They are always looking for new event ideas, and never turn down people willing to help decorate, serve, and clean up for these special occasions. Please call the church office, if you’re interested in helping with this ministry. If you’re a lady who has never attended one of these Bible Studies or events, you’re missing out on some awesome spiritual growth and fellowship that will enrich your walk with Christ; so keep looking for future times and dates of activities in the church bulletin and get involved!
